Los Roques. San Blas. Galapagos. Bora Bora. Tonga. Fiji.
Palau. Chartering Fellow Traveler provides a
unique opportunity to experience first hand some of the
most exotic places on Earth in the comfort of a superb
yacht. I realize that I am biased, but to my mind there
is no better way to visit an archipelago than by
sailboat. On Fellow Traveler one can spend
every night at a different location, anchored beside
pristine beaches and undeveloped islands, or perhaps a
local village that is hosting a festival. Each day she
slips over the waves, transporting us to our next
destination using the wind for propulsion. Perhaps for
lunch we will anchor at a remote reef to snorkel..

All of our trips offer a variety of activities including
sailing, snorkeling, beach combing, swimming, and visits to quaint island villages. Those interested
in scuba diving, either beginner or experienced, can
arrange dives on their charter by contacting us in
advance. These dive programs will be led by certified
dive masters from the locations we are visiting. Of
course, there is lots of time to just relax, enjoy the
scenery, read or chat with friends, both those that came
with you and new ones met along the way.
 Fellow Traveler is not
like most charter yachts. The trend in chartering is
towards mega-yachts, offering every luxury and amenity
found at a luxury resort. While this might sound
appealing, there are some drawbacks as well. First,
obviously, is the price. Such charters run into tens of
thousands of dollars a week. I have made every attempt
to keep my charters affordable to the average person,
significantly below what equivalent yachts typically
charter for. Beyond cost, though, the super-luxury
charters are limited by their very super-luxury status.
They can not stray far from the nearest gourmet
grocery, 5-star restaurant, or fine wine cellar. Thus,
these yachts are typically found in the Brittish Virgins
Islands, Antigua, New England, or the Med. Beautiful
places, certainly, but hardly remote or unexplored.
Having worked in the Virgin Islands for years, I can
tell you that every harbor becomes a veritable city of
charter boats each night. Personally, when I sail, I
prefer not to share my "remote, uninhabited
anchorage" with 200 other yachts. I try to offer
charters that are equally removed from the chartering
hot-spots. On Fellow Traveler, the
emphasis is on adventurous travel to the more remote,
unspoiled places around the globe on a safe, comfortable
vessel, not on
overly-pampered, extremes of luxury.

I am not in the charter-business full-time. I
charter Fellow Traveler partly to
suplement my income, and also because I like
sharing the beautiful places I know or hope to discover
with amiable, interesting people. I do not have a
mortgage to pay off, and do not live an expensive
lifestyle. My aim is to charter between five and ten
weeks a year. This means you are not just another person
passing through the "revolving companionway,"
but a "fellow traveler" sharing the adventure.
When you charter Fellow Traveler
the trip is catered to your needs and desires. The
captain and any crew will always respect you and your
privacy. We can and do accomodate people of any race,
religion, sexual orientation and age. If you desire,
your charter may be "clothing optional."
